Blackhawks Reassign Gilbert to Bloomington

Rockford, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned forward David Gilbert from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs to the CHL's Bloomington Blaze.

Gilbert, 21, appeared in one game for Rockford on Jan. 9 against Grand Rapids, but was held without a point. The second year pro has skated in 29 contests for the Blaze this season, notching 13 goals and 10 assists.

During the 2011-12 campaign, the Chateauguay, Quebec native split time between the IceHogs and the ECHL's Toledo Walleye. While with Rockford, Gilbert recorded five points (1g-4a) in 28 tilts.

A seventh round draft choice by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL draft, Gilbert has notched three goals and six assists in 34 career games with the IceHogs.

Next Home Game: Saturday, Jan. 19 vs. Grand Rapids at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs host their 4th annual Pink in the Rink night as they don special pink jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. The ice surface will also be painted pink. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive pink rally towels compliments of Dickerson & Nieman Realtors, Ferrellgas, Metropolitan Title Agency and Rasmussen College.
