Blackhawks Assign Carruth

BLACKHAWKS ASSIGN CARRUTH Photo by Fritz Stillings Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have assigned goaltender Mac Carruth to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Carruth, 21, has spent the last four seasons with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL), posting a 30-7-2 record in 2012-13 and falling just short of a Memorial Cup Championship. The Jackson, Wyoming native ranked second among all WHL goaltenders with a 2.06 goals against average and third with a .929 save percentage in 2012-13.

In four seasons with Portland, the netminder shows a record of 117-46-6 to go along with a 2.85 career goals against average and .910 save percentage.

The Blackhawks' active roster now includes 28 forwards, 14 defensemen and four goaltenders.
