New England Black Wolves News Release

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (March 30, 2015) - In a swap of team captains, the New England Black Wolves have acquired Andrew Suitor from the Minnesota Swarm in exchange for Joel White and New England's second round pick in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft.

"We hate to lose an individual like Joel," Black Wolves head coach Blane Harrison said about trading the team's captain. "He is a tremendous individual and phenomenal talent and in this case, we had to give up talent to get talent. We wish Joel the best of luck."

The 2012 NLL Transition Player of the Year, Suitor has recorded 75 points (42 goals, 33 assists) in his NLL career while scooping up 428 loose balls and causing 87 turnovers. He led the league in penalty minutes in 2014 with 73 and in 2012 with 74. In 12 games with the Swarm in 2015, Suitor had 15 points on nine goals and six assists with 60 loose balls and 15 forced turnovers. The fourth overall pick by the Swarm in the 2010 NLL Entry Draft, Suitor was a member of the 2011 NLL All-Rookie Team as well as the 2012 NLL All-Pro First Team and the West All-Star Team in 2012. He has served as captain of the Swarm since 2012.

Suitor won two Minto Cups with the Orangeville Northmen in 2008 and 2009 before transitioning to the Peterborough Lakers, where he has spent the last three summers. In 2012, he helped lead the Lakers to a Mann Cup title.

"We've always talked about a key component - a will to win," Harrison said. "Andrew Suitor is that component. He plays to win every game and we want to bring that into the locker room."

White had 10 points on seven goals and three assists with 117 loose balls and 16 forced turnovers in 10 games for the Black Wolves. White was selected 10th overall in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft by the Rochester Knighthawks and was traded to the Philadelphia Wings prior to the 2013 season. In 2014, he had a career-high 128 loose balls and 17 forced turnovers.

The Black Wolves return to action on Friday, April 3rd when they travel to Minnesota to play the Swarm at 8:30 p.m. ET. New England will next play at home on Sunday, April 12th at 1 p.m. against the Vancouver Stealth.
