Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Louisville Bats in the first game of a four-game series at Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a series win, taking three games of a five-game home-and-home with the Syracuse Chiefs. This upcoming series will be the team's final before the 2008 All-Star Break. On the mound tonight for the Herd will be RHP Frank Herrmann. The righty made his Triple-A debut on Saturday and allowed just two runs in seven innings in Rochester. Louisville will counter with LHP Adam Pettyjohn.

DEBUT, TAKE TWO: RHP Frank Herrmann was promoted from Double-A Akron today and gets the start for Buffalo tonight. The 24-year old made his Triple-A debut with the Bisons last Saturday in Rochester and allowed just two runs in seven innings. He struck out four but ended on the wrong side of a 2-0 Red Wings victory. Herrmann returned to Akron after that game, but did not get to pitch for the Aeros before being promoted again today. To make roster room, INF Chris De La Cruz has been transferred to Akron. He hit .146 (6-41) with four RBI in 17 games with the Herd.

CLUTCH IS EVERYTHING: The Bisons got plenty of timely hits in last night's 9-5 win. The Herd went 5-10 (.500) with runners in scoring position with seven of their nine runs coming with two outs. INF Michael Aubrey had a pair of those hits with a two-out, two-run double in the seventh and a two-out RBI-single in the ninth. C Chris Gimenez and OF Todd Linden also drove in runs with two outs in last night's win.

ALL-STAR ARM: LHP Rich Rundles continues to earn his selection to the IL All-Star Team. The reliever has pitched in six of the first nine days this month. He's allowed just one run on two hits in six innings in July, good for a 1.50ERA. Last night, Rundles earned just his third professional save with 1.1 innings of relief. On the year, he is 5-4 with a 3.38ERA in 36 games.

HAIL A CABBY: INF Asdrubal Cabrera has posted four consecutive multi-hit games and now has his average up to .336 (42-125) after 30 games with the team. Cabrera has also increased his power over the last few days with two doubles and two home runs in his last four games. Cabrera had four doubles, a triple and one home run in his first 26 games with the Herd.
