TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Rochester Red Wings in the final game of a five-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). After a 6-1 loss last night, the Herd is now 2-2 in the series with Rochester and 2-7 on its final homestand of the season. Tonight's game is Fan Appreciation Night and will be the club's final home game in 2012.

THRUWAY CUP: At 17-12, the Bisons lead the Syracuse Chiefs (16-13) by one game in the 2012 Thruway Series. The Red Wings (9-17) were officially eliminated on Sunday after the first game of the doubleheader. The Bisons are 11-2 in their last 13 games against the Red Wings at Coca-Cola Field.

McHUGH: RHP COLLIN McHUGH will make his 13th start with the Herd this season. The righty made his MLB debut with New York on August 23 against Colorado and tossed 7.0 shutout innings with nine strikeouts in a no-decision (2H, BB). In his last start as a Bisons, McHugh tossed seven shutout innings to beat the Pawtucket on August 18th's "˜Futures at Fenway' Game.

100K: The Bisons have had three pitchers with at least 100 strikeouts for the first time since 1990. RHP JEURYS FAMILIA leads the team with 119, while RHP MATT HARVEY (112) and LHP GARRETT OLSON (105) have also reached the century mark. In 1990, Vicente Palacios (137), Mike York (130), and Dorn Taylor (112) each accomplished the feat. The only other season the Herd had multiple 100K pitchers was 1989 (Bob Patterson and Dorn Taylor).

VALDESPIN: INF/OF JORDANY VALDESPIN has been activated by the Bisons. He was optioned on Sunday after averaging .242 with eight homers and 34RBI in 75 games with the Mets. In 34 games with the Bisons this season, Valdespin has hit .289 with five homers, 19RBI and eight stolen bases.

BISONS BITS: INF ZACH LUTZ went 3-4 last night with two doubles and a run scored. In his last five games, Lutz is hitting .412 (7-17) with three doubles, a home run, and three RBI...OF FRED LEWIS singled in his only at-bat last night to extend his hitting streak to a team-high seven games. Over the stretch, Lewis is hitting .375 (9-24) with five runs scored, two doubles, a home run, and two RBI...LHP JUSTIN HAMPSON tossed a perfect inning last night to extend his scoreless outings streak to seven games (8.1IP).

METS UPDATE : The Mets (59-69) were off yesterday. New York will begin a three-game set with the rival Phillies tonight from Citizens Bank Park (7:05 p.m.). INF DAVID WRIGHT is fifth in the National League in batting average (.317), second in on-base percentage (.410), and tied for second in doubles (36).
