Today's Game:

The Buffalo Bisons take on the Rochester Red Wings in the first game of a four-game series at Frontier Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a 3-1 series win over the PawSox and have now won 11 of its last 12 games. After this series, the Bisons finally start play outside their division with a four-game series against the Bats in Buffalo.

Bisons vs. Red Wings

The Bisons are 3-1 against their closest rivals this year. The Herd swept two at Coca-Cola Field to open the season before splitting the back half of the four-game home-and-home at Frontier Field, April 6-7. The Bisons were 9-7 overall against the Red Wings last season.

Winning Ways

Last night the Bisons picked up their 15th win in April. It's the 5th time they've won 15 games in an April, but they have never won 16 in the modern era. Buffalo enters today's game with an eight-game road winning streak, one shy of their modern era record of nine set April 17-19, 28-30 and May 8-11, 1985 during their first season back at Triple-A.

What Brown does for us

With his 253rd Bisons win last night, MARTY BROWN is now tied with Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer Brian Graham for the most managerial victories in the Bisons modern era. Brown won 238 games and two division titles with the Herd, 2003-05.

High-Powered Herd

The Bisons have clubbed seven home runs over the past three games, giving the team a league-best 25 on the season. Despite playing as many as three less games than some IL teams, Buffalo also leads the circuit with 127 runs scored. Buffalo's .319 batting average is seven points better than any team in baseball (PCL's Colorado Springs, .312).

Chart Toppers

The Bisons have three of the top four hitters in the International League with INF JIM NEGRYCH (1st, .481), OF MOISES SIERRA (3rd, .393) and INF LUIS JIMENEZ (4th, .381). OF EUGENIO VELEZ also cracks the Top-10 at ninth (.346). Buffalo also has the league's top three sluggers with Negrych (.759), INF MAURO GOMEZ (.723) and Jimenez (.667).

Jimenez

INF LUIS JIMENEZ is one of three IL batters to bring a 10-game hit streak into play today. The slugger has averaged .474 (18-38) since April 17. Jimenez is tied for the IL lead with 23 RBI and is hitting .464 with runners in scoring position this year.

Toronto (8-15) were on the losing side of a 6-4 decision in New York last night. INF EDWIN ENCARNACION hit two more home runs and OF JOSE BATISTA clubbed his sixth of the season. The Blue Jays take on the Yankees again today at 4:05 p.m.
