Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indians were swept at home for the first time this season after dropping Sunday's finale with Buffalo, 5-3, at Victory Field.

Indianapolis (40-36) snapped an 18-inning scoreless streak in this series with a two-run first inning. Austin Meadows doubled and Max Moroff belted his sixth home run of the year to end the drought.

Buffalo (43-34) plated three runs of their own in the third to retake the lead.

Josh Bell notched an infield single in the fifth inning before Jason Rogers hammered a double to give the Indians back the lead, 3-2.

Wilfredo Boscan departed after six innings of work, scattering nine hits and charged with all three earned runs.

Danny Ortiz made a leaping grab in left field on a ball hit over his head to preserve the tie in the top of the seventh.

The Bisons moved ahead to stay with two runs in the eighth, highlighted by a double from Andy Burns.

The Indians loaded the bases with one away in the home half, but a double play ended the scoring threat.

Rob Scahill (0-1) was saddled with the loss while MLB rehabber Franklin Morales (1-0) received the win. Danny Barnes earned his first save.

Victory Field and the Tribe will next host Gwinnett starting Monday at 7:05 p.m.
