Bisons Announce Enhanced Security Measures for All Events

February 13, 2017 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Buffalo Bisons today announced an enhanced security program for all events at Coca-Cola Field that will take effect on Opening Day, April 6, 2017.

Effective April 6, everyone entering Coca-Cola Field will be required to enter through walk-thru metal detectors. Metal detectors will be placed at all ballpark entrances, including all fan gates, the Pettibones Grille entrance on Washington St. and at the centerfield pavilion with an enhanced security presence in place to enforce all ballpark security measures.

As part of this new policy, there will also be no re-entry into Coca-Cola Field once a fan has entered the ballpark, including anyone who wishes the leave the ballpark and the grounds around it to smoke or use tobacco-related products.

For more information, fans may DOWNLOAD the full Coca-Cola Field Security Policy or visit the Bisons.com Security Information Page.

"We are extremely proud of our long-standing reputation of providing our fans with a safe and comfortable ballpark experience each and every time they come to Coca-Cola Field," said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manger of the Bisons. "We are taking these steps to further ensure our guests can fully enjoy the fun and exciting atmosphere of Bisons baseball in 2017 and for many years to come."

Gates for most Bisons games at Coca-Cola Field in 2017 will continue to open 60 minutes prior to first pitch (subject to change). Metal detectors will be in place at all ballpark entrances at that time with fans required to remove only their mobile phones and cameras from their pockets prior to entering (fans may also be wanded by ballpark security if deemed necessary following walk-thru).

All existing Coca-Cola Field carry-in regulations will continue in 2017 with a complete list of prohibited items available at Bisons.com. Fans will still be allowed to enter the ballpark with a 20 oz. factory-sealed plastic of water and a single-serve portion clear plastic sandwich bag per person and a small juice box per child. All bags will be subject to search by ballpark security prior to entering the ballpark.
