Billy Forbes Returns to Lead the San Antonio Attack in 2016

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Tuesday, November 3, 2015) - Billy Forbes has been re-signed and will be back in San Antonio for a third North American Soccer League (NASL) season, president & general manager Howard Cornfield announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contract will not be disclosed.

"Billy is one of the most exciting players to ever wear a Scorpions uniform," said Cornfield. "He was once again amongst the top creative players in our league and he will be a core part of our 2016 team. I'm very excited for our fans that they'll be able to continue watching Billy's development as a player at Toyota Field."

Forbes built on his breakout rookie season in 2014 - when he led the NASL with seven assists and added four goals - by scoring five goals and tallying eight assists in 27 games and 1,858 minutes in 2015. The Turks and Caicos international is the club's all-time leader in assists with 15. In less than two full seasons, he has been; named to the NASL Team of the Week seven times, selected as the NASL Player of the Week twice, won NASL Play of the Week once, and scored the game and Soccer Bowl-winning goal in the second half of the 2014 NASL Championship Final against the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers.

"I think it's a great opportunity for me to return here next year as we try to win another championship," said Forbes. "I enjoy being in San Antonio, I love our fans, and I want to come back and give them something special."

Forbes joined the Scorpions midway through the 2014 NASL Spring Season and prior to his professional debut in San Antonio, he played collegiately at Lubbock Christian University and for the Premier Development League's Southern West Virginia King's Warriors.
