Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, NEV., November 1, 2012 - Marcus Landry and Darnell Jackson headline the list of players that will be heading to the Reno Bighorns training camp, the team announced today. Landry and Jackson, along with eight other returning, affiliate or local tryout players, will be joined by seven players from the NBA D-League Draft tomorrow night.

Joining Jackson and Landry will be: Anthony Richardson, Cyril Awere, Will Blalock, Adrian Oliver, Chris Ayer, Suleiman Braimoh, and Brandon Armstrong. Jackson and Awere come to the Bighorns as affiliate players, from the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings respectively. Landry and Richardson both played for the Bighorns during the 2010-11 season, in which the team went a franchise-best 34-16 and advanced to the second round of the D-League playoffs. Blalock, Oliver, and Ayer played for the Bighorns last season. Bramoh and Armstrong come to the Bighorns as local tryout players.

"We are very excited to have Darnell Jackson come to training camp as an affiliate player," Mokeski said. "We expect him to become one of the better big men in the D-League."

Jackson played collegiately at Kansas, winning a national championship there in 2008. He spent the 2010-11 season with the Sacramento Kings.

Mokeski added that he is glad to have Landry and Richardson back as well. "They are both very good players that will help the team." Landry played in 49 games for the Bighorns during the 10-11 season, averaging 17.1 points per game, while Richardson played in 30 games, averaging 14.3 points per game.

"I am excited to have back former Bighorns players, Will Blalock, Adrian Oliver, Chris Ayer, Marcus Landry and Anthony Richardson in our training camp" said Reno Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr. "When you look at these players and add in our draft picks we will select on Friday night, we have the potential of putting on the floor the best ever Reno Bighorns team on Opening Night."

The Bighorns also announced their coaching staff for the 2012-13 season. Jason Glover will return as associate head coach, Deane Martin joins the team as an assistant coach, and former Nevada basketball star and Bighorns player, Garry Hill-Thomas, will also join the team as an assistant coach.

The Bighorns are hosting a D-League Draft Party on Friday, November 2 at Sully's Sports Bar inside Tamarack Junction. The party, which starts at 3:30 p.m., is free to the public and fans will have the chance to win great Bighorns prizes.

The Bighorns open their fifth season in Reno on Friday, November 30 at the Reno Events Center. Season tickets and group tickets are on sale today. For more information, fans can call 775-853-8220.
