Bighorns Acquire Blalock From Maine

RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns have acquired guard Will Blalock from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for guard Russell Robinson, the organization announced today.

Blalock, a 6-1 guard out of Iowa State, averaged 8.5 points and 5.6 assists with the Red Claws this season. He played in 14 NBA games with the Detroit Pistons in the 2006-07 season.

Blalock finished his career at Iowa State ranked 22nd all-time in scoring (1,078), sixth in assists (464), tied for sixth in steals (177) and eighth in three-point field goals (100). He is expected to join the team in time for Saturday's game in Reno against the Utah Flash.

Robinson played with Reno in its inaugural season last year, and returned for a second stint in 2009-10. He leaves the Bighorns averaging 16.4 points and 3.7 assists per game.

Coming up, the Bighorns return home on Saturday, Jan. 30 for a two-game weekend series with the Flash. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m., and the Bighorns will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Night in the Reno Events Center.
