New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Needing just a draw to clinch a spot in the semifinal round of SuperLiga 2009, the New England Revolution will host Mexican Primera División club Atlas at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, at Gillette Stadium in the Group B finale for both clubs. The game will be televised nationally in Spanish on Telefutura, while streaming video of the match will be available in English on superliga2009.com. ESPN Deportes Radio will carry the game nationally in Spanish, while local listeners can tune into the WEEI Radio Network for English audio.
With one win and one draw from their first two matches, the Revs currently sit alone atop Group B with four points, two points ahead of Atlas (0-0-2, 2 pts.) and Kansas City (0-0-2, 2 pts.) and three points ahead of Santos Laguna (0-1-1, 1 pt.). While a draw on Sunday will guarantee the Revolution its place in the final four of the competition, a win over Atlas will assure New England the top spot in the group and another home game in the semifinals, which will take place on July 15.
Sunday afternoon's clash between the Revolution and Atlas will pit the tournament's best offensive team against its' best defensive team. New England leads the competition with five goals scored through two matches, while Atlas has yet to concede a goal.
