Besse Signs PTO with Tucson

Norfolk, VA. - The Norfolk Admirals, proud member of the ECHL, announced that forward Grant Besse signed a PTO (Professional Tryout) with the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) on Friday afternoon.
Besse, 23, leads the Admirals in both points (27) and goals (13) in 28 games this season. The forward has only missed one game this season. A native of Plymouth, MN, Besse has eight points (4g, 4a) in his last four games, including one game-winning goal. Prior to turning pro Besse spent four seasons at the University of Wisconsin where he recorded 97 points in 138 games with the Badgers. He was also an assistant captain in his junior and senior seasons. The forward was originally a fifth round draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Besse will join the Road Runners ahead of their Friday night contest against Bakersfield.
Norfolk hosts Jacksonville for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday night, wrapping up the 2017 portion of the season.
