Cedar Rapids, IA- The Burlington Bees (8-10) were held to just one run on five hits, losing 2-1 to the Cedar Rapids Kernels (10-9) on Tuesday night at Perfect Game Field.

Bees' starter Jesus Castillo tossed five shutout innings for the second time on the current road trip. Cedar Rapids posed a threat in the fourth inning, putting runners at first and second with two outs. Shane Carrier hit a groundball to the left side that was stopped on a dive by Roberto Baldoquin, who threw to second for the out, to end the threat.

Cedar Rapids got to the Bees' bullpen in the sixth. Jermaine Palacios started the inning with a leadoff triple. After a strike out, the Bees intentionally walked Lewin Diaz, putting runners at the corners. The Kernels took the lead on a wild pitch, scoring Palacios, giving the Kernels a 1-0 lead. Jaylin Davis doubled the lead by grounding a single into center field, scoring Diaz, making the score 2-0 in favor of Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids Kernels' starter Eduardo Del Rosario tossed six shutout innings. The Bees threatened in the eighth, putting runners at second and third with two outs but Alex Robinson struck out Brennan Morgan to keep the Bees off the board.

The Bees' lone run of the game came in the ninth when Roberto Baldoquin scored on a Mario Sanjur groundout, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

Eduardo Del Rosario (2-1) earned the win while Nathan Bates (0-1) was charged with the loss for the Bees. Tom Hackimer (2) picked up the save. The Bees and the Kernels will wrap up the series on Wednesday night at 6:35 pm. Joe Gatto will make the start for the Bees against Tyler Wells for Cedar Rapids.
