Portland Beavers News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Beavers today placed infielder Peter Ciofrone on the disabled list (retroactive to May 19) with a left thumb contusion, reinstated outfielder Vincent Sinisi from the disabled list and announced that right-handed pitcher Will Inman has been transferred to Portland from Class AA San Antonio.

Ciofrone, 25, is batting .158 (16-for-101) with one double, a triple, one home run, six RBIs, 14 walks and nine runs scored in 29 games with Portland this season. In three seasons with the Beavers (2007-09), Ciofrone has a .273 batting average, 23 doubles, five triples, 23 home runs, 80 RBIs, 61 walks and 97 runs scored over 162 games.

Sinisi, 27, missed the first 40 games of the season while on the disabled list with a wrist strain. In two previous seasons with Portland (2007-08), Sinisi compiled a .297 batting average with 33 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 70 RBIs and 66 runs scored in 160 games.

Inman, 22, will make his Triple-A debut with his first appearance with the Beavers. In eight starts with San Antonio this season, the right-hander was 4-1 with a 3.05 ERA (15er, 44.1ip) and 36 strikeouts to go with just eight walks allowed.

Originally a third-round selection of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2005 draft, Inman was acquired by the San Diego Padres from Milwaukee along with left-handed pitchers Joe Thatcher and Steve Garrison in exchange for right-handed pitcher Scott Linebrink on July 25, 2007.

With today's moves, the Beavers' active roster is now at its 24-man limit.
