In Brief
· 11/25: Thanksgiving Match-up
The Beacons went into the match-up riding a two game winning streak, having won two games at home the week prior against the Missouri RiverOtters and Kansas City Outlaws. The Fury jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after one period of play. The Beacons responded at 4:33 of the second when Josh Tataryn (8) scored with a helper by Aaron Brand (8), cutting the lead down to 3-1. The Beacons other goal was a power play goal at 13:05 of the third, tallied by David Beauregard (11) with assists by Mat Goody (1) and Chris Slater (4). · 11/26: Beacons weren’t Frostbitten
The Frostbite scored just 1:40 into the game, however, the Beacons responded at the 15:23 mark when Chris Slater (1) scored with Aaron Brand (9,10,11,12), his first of four and Ian Jacobs, his first of three on the night, (8,9,10) getting the assists, thus ending the first period tied at one. Adirondack took a 2-1 lead at 6:17 of the second, but then the Beacons exploded for four straight unanswered goals. Joey Sewell (4), David Beauregard (12,13), his first of two on the night, and Josh Tataryn (9,10) each scored in the second ending the period up 5-2. The Beacons lost the third period being outscored 2-1, however, they held on and won 6-4.
· 11/27: Mechanics Head Home looking for repairs
At 6:32 of the first period the first goal was scored, however it was by the wrong team. Motor City scored quickly and the Beacons responded even quicker. Just 17 seconds later Joey Sewell (5,6) scored his first of back-to-back goals with assists by Andrew McPherson (8,9,10), his first of three on the night and David Beauregard (7). Gabriel Proulx (2) then scored with 4:47 left in the first with Aaron Brand (13,14), his first of two on the night, and Ian Jacobs (11), thus ending the first with a 3-1 lead. Beauregard (14,15) scored the lone goal in the second when he took a pass from Sewell (6,7) and McPherson. Josh Tataryn (11) tallied a goal in the third to clinch the game when he popped one home with helpers from Brand and Chad Dameworth (5).
Upcoming Games: Week Eight
· 12/3: The Beacons travel to New York to face the Frostbite for the second time this season. The Beacons won the first of five match-ups 6-4 on Friday at McMorran Arena. FACE-OFF: 7:05 P.M.
· 12/4: The first of back-to-back meetings and first meeting with the expansion Trashers. Danbury currently sits in first place in the Eastern Division with 27 points. FACE-OFF: 7:00 p.m.
· 12/5: Danbury again…This is the second of five meetings this season. FACE-OFF: 7:00 p.m.
Next Home Games
The Beacons return home for three games on December 10th-12th. It also means the appearance of the legendary Goldie Goldthorpe. Goldthorpe will be in attendance for all three games, however, Saturday the 11th will be the day that Goldthorpe will be signing autographs. Goldthorpe will be dropping the ceremonial first puck for both Friday and Sunday’s game. The character “Ogie Oglethorpe” in the classic movie “Slapshot” was based on Goldthorpe.
Weekly Nominees
Player of the Week
The Beacons nominate David Beauregard as the Sher Wood Player of the week. Beauregard finished the week with 7 points in three games played. Beauregard was +3 for the week and tallied 5 goals and 2 assists on 20 shots including 2 PPGÂ’s for the weekendÂ’s action.
Goaltender of the Week
The Beacons nominate Kory Cooper as the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week. Cooper finished the week 2-1-0 in 180 minutes played with 69 saves on 81 shots for a .852 SV% and a 4.00 GAA.
Monthly Nominees
Player of the Month for the month of November
The Beacons nominate David Beauregard as the Sher-Wood Player of the Month for the Month of November. Beauregard finished the month with 12 goals, 4 assists, 16 points 6 PIM and was a +3 in 12 games played. Of those 12 goals three of them were power play goals and 1 Game-winning goal. Beauregard also finishes the month riding a 5 game goal-scoring streak into December.
Goaltender of the Month for the Month of November
The Beacons nominate Kory Cooper for the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of November. Cooper finished the month with a 3-2-0 record playing 257:25 minutes, making 105 saves on 121 shots. With those numbers Cooper had a .868 SV% and a 3.73 GAA.
Milestones
Aaron Brand moved pass Casey Harris for 6th on the Beacons all-time point list. Brand now sits at 35 goals, 39 assists for 74 points in 85 games played. Brand is closing in on 5th place, sitting only 2 points behind Chris MacKenzie.

The coaches show returns to the Brass Rail for another exciting season. Join Beacons play-by-play announcer, Dennis Stuckey along with Head Coach, Rick Adduono for in depth analysis of the weekends action and questions from fans of all ages. Select Beacon players will also be appearing throughout the season. Of course if you cannot make it down to the Brass Rail you can always tune into AM 1450 and AM 1590, also your home for hockey action all year long both home and away.
