Baysox Fall to Senators

Harrisburg, PA - The Bowie Baysox (1-2) gave up two runs in each the second, third and fourth innings and fell to the Harrisburg Senators (2-1) 6-1 on Saturday night.
Kevin Gausman got the loss in his regular season Double-A debut. He went four innings and allowed six runs, four earned on eight hits with eight strikeouts and eight walks.
Steven Souza gave the Senators the early lead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the second inning.
The Senators added two more runs in the third inning. With two outs and no one on base, Josh Johnson reached on an error and Anthony Rendon singled. Justin Bloxom then doubled to knock in Johnson. Harrisburg added one more run when Rendon scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-0.
In the top of the fourth the Baysox got on the board. Buck Britton and Caleb Joseph each drew walks. Then Zelous Wheeler reached on an error that allowed Britton to score and cut the lead to 4-1.
The Senators tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning. With runners at second and third and one out, Rick Hague hit a two-run single to extend the lead to 6-1.
Paul Demny got the win going five innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
The Baysox home opener is Thursday, April 11. The team starts off the home schedule with a seven game homestand that features a magnet schedule giveaway Thursday, April 11 during a game starting at 7:05 and Pi(e) Night Friday, April 12 in the game starting at 7:05 p.m.
