Erie, Pennsylvania, Friday, December 9 - Five Erie BayHawks players are headed to NBA training camps and Erie has added two other players to the team's active roster.
Guard Donald Sloan will be in camp with the Atlanta Hawks, guard Cory Higgins with the Denver Nuggets, forward Chris Daniels with the Los Angeles Lakers, and guard Mychel Thompson and forward Kyle Goldcamp with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Erie has activated guard D. J. Kennedy and acquired guard Marvin Roberts who participated in the team's training camp.
Erie's current active roster now stands at nine players.
Kennedy (6-5, 214) is a product of St. John's University where played both the guard and forward position. Kennedy averaged 10.7 points and 5.7 rebounds for the Red Storm during his senior season last year prior to tearing his ACL in the Big East Tournament. He is a native of Pittsburgh and attended Schenley High School. Kennedy participated in Erie's training camp however his knee injury has prevented him from participating in game action until now.
Roberts (6-5, 210) played the guard position for two seasons at Florida International University under head coach Isiah Thomas where during his senior year he averaged 13.4 pts and 4.5 rebs per game.
Erie (2-3) faces the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers new affiliate, tonight at home. On Saturday, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants visit Erie for their first meeting of the season. Tip-off is set for 7pm both nights at Tullio Arena.
