Todd Glaesmann increased the lead to 6-1 with a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth fame.

Travis Denker lined a two-run homer over top of the left field wall in the first inning and two more runs came across in the second inning to give Mobile the 4-0 lead. The Suns failed to score until their final at bat. Jacksonville would bring the tying run to the plate in the seventh inning but RHP Matt Stites (S, 9) entered the game to secure the BayBears win, recording his ninth save of the season.

RHP Billy Buckner (3-5) tossed all seven innings for the win in game one. The righty allowed just the one run on six hits. RHP Edgar Garcia (3-2) followed Buckner's performance with a good start of his own in game 2. The righty shutout the Suns and allowed just three hits, issuing one walk and striking out seven batters in five innings of work on the mound.

After an off-day on Monday, the BayBears began a five game series against the Biloxi Shuckers. The first two games of the series will be played at Hank Aaron Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday and then the series shifts to MGM Park for the final three games of the series in Biloxi.
