Mobile BayBears News Release

MOBILE, Ala. - Four errors turned into three unearned runs as the BayBears fell to the Montgomery Biscuits on Tuesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium, 5-4, spoiling the Double-A debut of Wes Roemer.

Roemer (0-1) tossed six solid innings while allowing four runs total but just two earned. Montgomery (15-17) grabbed the advantage in the second with Jason Perry doubling to start the frame and scoring on a groundout by J.T. Hall. Rashad Eldridge followed Perry with a single and came home on a base hit by Jason Bowers.

Ricardo Sosa made the first of his three defensive miscues which turned into a third-inning run for the Biscuits, putting them up by three. Desmond Jennings touched home in the fifth after singling and scoring on an error by Roemer as he dropped a putout at first base, covering after a grounder by Perry.

The BayBears (19-13) only managed one hit in five frames against Aneury Rodriguez (1-5) but had few issues with Chris Mason who worked three innings in relief. Mason surrendered an RBI single to Cyle Hankerd in the sixth while Sosa doubled home a tally in the eighth prior to an Orlando Mercado sac fly which made it 5-3.

Calvin Medlock (S, 7) entered to finish the contest for the second straight night and recorded the first two outs before a two-base hit by Yunesky Sanchez. Sanchez scored after an infield single by Chris Rahl and a throwing error by shortstop Brandon Chaves. Rahl advanced to second on the poor throw and was stranded as James Skelton popped out.

Right-hander Jarrod Parker (1-1, 3.48) makes his Hank Aaron Stadium debut on Wednesday morning at 11:35. For Hank Aaron Stadium ticket information, please call (251) 479-BEAR or log on to www.mobilebaybears.com.
