Charleston Battery News Release

Charleston, SC. - The Charleston Battery squares off with the LA Blues Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium; gates open at 6 PM with kick off set for 7:30 PM. The Battery enters the game looking for a third successive win after defeating Dayton Dutch Lions 1-0 last Friday night and Phoenix FC Wolves 5-1 on Wednesday.

It's Thank You Heroes Night at Blackbaud Stadium on Saturday presented by the Angie Gainey Bailey Real Estate Team with complimentary admission for military, CFD, CPD and EMT.

Colin Falvey, Dane Kelly (2) and Amadou Sanyang all scored on Wednesday night as the Battery hit five goals in a game for the fist time this season. Kelly's brace moves him onto six USL PRO goals for the year tied with joint team-leader Nicki Paterson.

Head coach Mike Anhaeuser should have close to a complete squad to choose from on Saturday with Mark Wiltse the only player unavailable for selection through injury. Rookie midfielder Ben Fisk who had been sidelined since late May returned to the Battery this week and played the final 12 minutes of Wednesday's match.

The LA Blues were originally scheduled to play Charlotte Eagles on Wednesday night but a weather postponement forced the game to be moved to Thursday evening.

This is the first of two games the Battery will play against LA this year; the return fixture is set for Thursday, August 8 in Los Angeles. In 2012 the teams met once with the Battery earning a 1-0 victory courtesy of a Colin Falvey goal.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on Sports Radio 1450 AM with a live video stream also available at www.USLNation.com. To purchase tickets or for more information please call (843) 971-GOAL or visit www.charlestonbattery.com.
