Battery away at Wilmington Friday - home versus Richmond Saturday

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery takes on the Wilmington Hammerheads on Friday night at Legion Stadium, Wilmington, NC and then returns home to Blackbaud Stadium on Saturday night to play the Richmond Kickers. Both games kick off at 7:30 PM and are available live on Sports Radio 1450 AM and online at www.USLNation.com.

Charleston's last match was a 3-0 win versus LA Blues in game played at Blackbaud Stadium last Saturday night.

Nicki Paterson, Dane Kelly and Heviel Cordoves supplied the goals as the Battery won its third straight match and moved into sole possession of fourth position in the USL PRO standings. The top eight teams will advance to the USL PRO post-season with the top four sides guaranteed a home match in the quarterfinal round.

Paterson and Kelly have now both scored seven goals for the season and are joint team scoring leaders.

Friday night's match versus Wilmington is the second time the teams will have played this year. The Battery defeated the Hammerheads 4-2 back on May 11 at Blackbaud Stadium.

On Saturday night Charleston returns to Blackbaud Stadium to take on the league-leading Richmond Kickers. Richmond defeated the Battery 4-1 on the opening day of the season in Richmond and has managed to remain unbeaten since compiling an overall record of 12 wins and 8 ties.

Like the Battery Richmond also plays a match on Friday night facing the Charlotte Eagles in Charlotte, NC.
