July 20, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Louisville Bats News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Louisville Bats (49-49) won the final game of a three-game series with the Columbus Clippers, 7-5. Right-hander Homer Bailey (1-2, 5.95) earned the win in his sixth Major League rehab start for Louisville this season.

Leadoff hitter Hernan Iribarren wasted no time in extending his hitting streak to 14 games, which is the longest active streak in the International League. His two-run homer in the second inning, which put the Bats up 4-0, marks the third straight game in which he's homered. He's the first Louisville Bat to homer in three straight games since Eugenio Suarez on May 30 - June 2, 2015.

Rehabbing starter Homer Bailey pitched a season-high five and one-third innings, surrendering five earned runs on six hits and three homers, walking one and striking out one. He threw 83 pitches and 53 strikes, both season highs. He earned his first win since August 7, 2014 with the Cincinnati Reds.

In addition to Iribarren's three-hit game that included a home run, second baseman Jermaine Curtis and first baseman Steve Selsky also homered off Columbus starter Adam Plutko (2-3, 5.10), only the second time all season that the Bats have hit three home runs as a team.

The bullpen provided three and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief, with right-handers Chad Rogers chipping in two and two-thirds innings and Kevin Shackelford earning his second Triple-A save.

Coming off the series victory in Columbus, the Bats will kick off a four-game home series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, with Major League rehabber Tim Adleman (2-0, 3.38) set to take the mound against Lehigh Valley left-hander Adam Morgan (2-1, 3.80), with first pitch at 7:05 p.m. This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
