LOUISVILLE, KY-Second baseman Aaron Herr hit his third home run in two nights, carrying the Bats (54-55) to a 6-3 victory over the Charlotte Knights (50-60) in front of 8,815 fans at Louisville Slugger Field Monday night.

Herr's three-run blast came in the bottom of the second inning, putting the Bats on top 6-0. He finished the game 3-for-4 with two doubles to go along with his 12th home run of the season. Jesse Gutierrez hit a two-RBI single in the first inning, part of a 1-for-4 night for the Bats designated hitter.

Former Bat Earl Snyder went 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI for Charlotte. Snyder returned to Louisville for the first time since being released by the Bats on June 8. In 43 games with the Bats, Snyder had a .202 batting average with four home runs and 16 RBI.

Louisville starter Richie Gardner (3-4, 5.90) picks up the win, going 5.1 innings, yielding four hits and three runs while striking out four. Ricky Stone earns his 11th save for the Bats and didn't allow a hit in 1.0 inning of work.

RHP Lance Broadway (6-6, 4.09) gets the loss for Charlotte. Broadway allowed 10 hits and six earned runs in a complete game (8.0 innings); however, eight of the hits and all six runs came in the first two innings.

Louisville will be trying for three wins in a row tomorrow night, as they face the Charlotte Knights at 7:05 p.m. in the finale of the two-game series. LHP Phil Dumatrait (10-5, 3.49) makes his 22nd start of the season for the Bats. He will face LHP Andrew Sisco (1-4, 4.35), who has not allowed an earned run in his last three starts for the Knights.
