LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats lost to the Indianapolis Indians, 4-0. Three of the Indians' four runs were unearned, as the Bats made three errors.
Major League rehabber Homer Bailey (0-2, 5.02) took the loss. Bailey pitched four innings, allowing three hits, three runs (one earned) with two walks, one wild pitch, and five strikeouts. He threw 67 pitches, with 44 of them being strikes. Indians right-hander Trevor Williams (5-4, 3.24) earned the win. Williams pitched six innings, allowing three hits, one walk, and striking out four.
Indianapolis scored their first two runs of the night in the second inning giving them a 2-0 lead.
The Indians scored their third run off an RBI single by Willy Garcia bringing their lead to 3-0 in the fourth, their only RBI of the night despite the four runs.
Indianapolis padded their lead in the eighth, scoring a fourth run off an error by shortstop Hernan Iribarren, bringing their lead to 4-0.
The Bats had six runners reach base in the game, with three of those runners coming in the sixth.
The Bats will try to get their second win of the four-game series tomorrow night. Major League rehabber Tim Adleman (2-0, 4.05) will take the mound for the Bats tomorrow night. The Indians will counter with left-hander Steven Brault (2-4, 2.82).
