Bats Remain Hot as Isotopes Defeat 51s 11-7

April 28, 2017 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

For the second straight game, the Isotopes offense put up double digits in the run column, downing the Las Vegas 51s, 11-6, from Cashman Field to open up a nine-game road trip. The Isotopes have now won three in a row and have pulled back to the .500 mark.

Albuquerque recorded 15 hits on the night, with center fielder Raimel Tapia and shortstop Rafael Ynoa leading the way with three hits each. Tapia came within just feet of hitting for the cycle, hooking a long drive just foul down the right field line. The 23-year-old reached base four times, finishing 3-for-4 with a single, double, triple, walk and two RBI.

Ynoa finished the day 3-for-3 with a walk, three RBI and two triples, marking the second time this season an Isotope has register two triples in a single game. Jordan Patterson accomplished the feat on April 20 at Isotopes Park.

The three triples on the night give the club 15 for the season, which leads all of affiliated baseball.

Albuquerque starter Ryan Carpenter received a no-decision after allowing five runs on 10 hits over his 4.1 innings on the mound. C.C. Lee received the win after pitching 1.2 scoreless innings in relief of Carpenter. It is the second win in as many games for Lee.

The Isotopes and 51s continue their series Saturday evening when right-hander Jeff Hoffman (0-2, 5.14) toes the rubber for Albuquerque. He will be opposed by Las Vegas righty Ricky Knapp (1-1, 4.91). First pitch from Cashman Field is set for 8:05 p.m.
