Bats Lose to the IronPigs,5-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Louisville Bats loss to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 5-1. Jesse Winker extended his hitting streak to 10 games, tying his season-high.

The Bats left-hander Amir Garrett took the loss (2-2, 2.35). Garrett pitched six innings, allowing three hits, two runs, one being a home run, one walk, and striking out two. Garrett pitched 83 pitches, with 55 of them being strikes. Garrett was able to retire 16 straight IronPigs.

Lehigh Valley right-hander David Buchanan (7-5, 4.05) earned the win. Buchanan pitched six innings, allowing four hits, one walk, and striking out two.

The IronPigs started off early with first baseman Darin Ruf hitting a two run homer to put their lead to 2-0 in the first inning.

Lehigh Valley scored two more runs in the eighth with an RBI double by Emmanuel Burriss to put the IronPigs lead to 4-0.

Bats center fielder Scott Schebler hit his 12th homerun of the season in the eighth to put the score at 4-1, IronPigs.

The IronPigs' Ruf hit his second home run of the game in the ninth to secure Lehigh's 5-1 win.

The Bats will start their series against the Charlotte Knights tomorrow night. Major League rehabber Homer Bailey (1-2, 5.95) will take the mound for the Bats. The Knights will oppose with Major League rehabber Carlos Rodon (2-7, 4.50).
