The Tides started Gabriel Ynoa on the mound. Ynoa went three and two thirds innings, allowing five hits, five runs, two walks and two strikeouts.

The Bats took the early lead in the top of the third. A Darnell Sweeney RBI double scored the first run of the game, which was then followed up by a Sebastian Elizalde two-run double to give the Bats a 3-0 lead.

The Bats added on two more runs in the top of the fourth courtesy of RBI singles by Zach Vincej and Hernan Iribarren, giving the club a 5-0 lead.

Brandon Dixon hit his team-leading eighth home run of the season in the top of the fifth, a two-run shot that pushed the lead up to seven.

The Tides mounted their comeback in the bottom of the sixth when Adam Brett Walker II slammed a two-run homer and put the Tides on the board for the first time on the night, cutting the deficit to five.

The Tides continued to attack the Bats lead through the remaining innings. In the bottom of the seventh, back-to-back RBI doubles by Johnny Giavotella and Francisco Pena brought the Tides within three, 7-4.

The bottom of the ninth saw the Tides add on two more, lessening the lead to 7-6, but failed to bring in the tying run at third base, giving the Bats the victory.
