Toledo cut it's deficit in half in the top of the second inning with the help of Bryan Holaday 's solo home run to left field.

The Mud Hens took the lead when they tacked on two runs in the third that started with Tyler Collins ' double that plated the tying run. Then, with runners on first and third, Toledo employed a double steal on a strikeout, and Collins was able to successfully steal home, giving the Mud Hens a 3-2 lead.

Both teams were held scoreless until the top of the eighth inning when the Mud Hens picked up three hits and two runs, extending their lead to 6-3. Toledo added another run in the top of the ninth, which came as an unearned run to Kyle McMyne .

The Bats loaded the bases in the ninth, but failed to produce, allowing Toledo to complete the series sweep.
