LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats lost the third game of a four-game series with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 8-2 on Saturday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

In the first inning, Scott Schebler collected his third extra-base hit in two games when his RBI double scored Carlos Triunfel to give the Bats a 1-0 lead. Schebler would get his fourth extra-base hit in two games with a double in the third.

Bats starter, right-hander Robert Stephenson (6-6, 3.69) pitched four perfect innings for the second straight start against the IronPigs. In the fifth inning, Stephenson lost his perfect game and the shutout as the IronPigs took a 2-1 lead on an error, double, and single.

In the sixth inning, IronPigs center fielder Nick Williams extended the lead with a home run to left field to make it 3-1.

Quickly after, the Bats responded with a run of their own in the sixth after Seth Mejias-Brean singled in Jesse Winker, who nearly homered to left.

Stephenson finished his day with the loss after six innings in which he gave up three runs, one earned, on three hits and struck out seven. Stephenson threw 81 pitches, 56 for strikes.

Righty Drew Hayes relieved Stephenson and was responsible for three runs that scored in the eighth by the IronPigs. Left-hander Nick Routt was responsible for the inning's fourth run, which put the IronPigs up 7-2.

Making his seventh start with Lehigh Valley, right-hander Phil Klein (1-0, 1.29) pitched four and one-third innings, gave up one run on six hits and struck out five. Righty Frank Herrmann was credited with his sixth win after an inning and two-thirds pitched.

In the ninth, the IronPigs put the exclamation point on their win with an RBI single off righty J.J. Hoover to make it 8-2.

The Bats and IronPigs will finish their season series tomorrow night at 6:05. Lefty Amir Garrett (2-1, 2.19) will go against right-hander David Buchanan (5-5, 4.56). This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
