The Barons wouldn't go away easy though and cut the Maple Leafs lead to 5-3 early in the third period. The Barons goals were recorded by Ryane Clowe, Shane Joseph and Scott Dobben.

Coming Up

11/2/04 vs. Hamilton - National City Rink located in Gund Arena

The Barons will meet the Hamilton Bulldogs for the first time this season. The Barons and Bulldogs built quite a rivalry last season, one in which the teams split the regular season series with identical 5-4-0-1 records. The two teams then met in an intense, six-game North Division Semifinal Playoff Series. The Bulldogs were victorious in the series advancing to the Division Finals where they lost to Rochester. Patrick Rissmiller led the Barons with four goals and finished second on the team with 8 points in 10 games against the Bulldogs in the regular season in 2003-04. Garrett Stafford also had a great regular season against the Bulldogs. In 9 games, the 2003-04 AHL All-Rookie Team member registered three goals and four assists. In fact, Stafford scored the game-winning goal against Hamilton on January 9th in overtime. That goal sprung the Barons to a 5-1-0-1 record over the next seven games (1/9 included in the record).

11/5 & 6/04 @ Hamilton - Copps Coliseum

The Barons will kick off their first three-games-in-three-nights and four-games-in-five-nights stretches of the season with back-to-back road games in Hamilton. It is the first time the Barons have returned to Hamilton since game 5 of the North Division Semifinal on 4/30/04. The Barons extended the Playoff series that evening with a 4-1 victory in Game 5. Shane Joseph was excellent in that series, tying the team lead with 7 points in six games. Joseph scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Game 2 of the series. Joseph connected on three of his six shots in that series. Nolan Schafer's 3-1-0 record, 2.00 goals against average and .942 save percentage bolstered the Barons against the Bulldogs in the regular season.

11/8/04 @ Rochester - Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial

The Barons posted a 2-3-2-1 record against the Rochester Americans in 2003-04. The Barons scored the first goal in six of the eight games against the Amerks.
