Barnstormers Bunch Hits, Beat York

April 19, 2017 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Lancaster Stormers News Release

The Lancaster Barnstormers did not pick up many hits on Wednesday afternoon, but they found the perfect times to come through.

Anderson De La Rosa drove a three-run double to left center in the fourth inning, and fellow catcher Tyler Clark spanked a two-run single into center in the ninth as the 'Stormers notched a 7-3 victory over the York Revolution at Peoples Bank Park in the spring finale. The club finished 2-2 against Atlantic League foes in the exhibition season.

With the Barnstormers trailing, 1-0, on a Joel Guzman home run, Jeff Kobernus led off the fourth with a sharp single to left off southpaw Chase Hutchinson. Trayvon Robinson followed with a single to right, and both runners advanced on a passed ball. K.C. Hobson walked to load the bases. Hutchinson struck out Sean Halton for the first out but failed to manage Lastings Milledge's sharp comebacker on the ensuing at bat, allowing a run to score. Garrett Weber gave Lancaster a 2-1 lead on a sacrifice fly to center that scored Robinson. Vladimir Frias was hit by a pitch to refill the bases. De La Rosa capped the inning with his drive that rolled to the fence in the left center alley.

York struck back immediately as Isaias Tejeda's two-out liner into right center skipped past a diving Darian Sandford for a two-run double following a walk to Jose Constanza and single by Alonzo Harris.

Lancaster maintained the 5-3 lead without managing another hit until the ninth. Walks to Robinson and Halton and a single by Milledge loaded the bases with one out. After Weber struck out, Clark, who took over for De La Rosa behind the plate in the late innings, rapped his single up the middle, scoring two.
