Altoona Curve News Release

CURVE, Pa. - Barrett Barnes extended his on-base streak to 19 games and scored two runs for the Altoona Curve in a 3-2 win over the Erie SeaWolves on Monday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

Barnes went 3-for-4 and scored on a Stetson Allie RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1 and scored to give the Curve a 2-1 lead on Anderson Feliz's RBI single in the seventh.

Altoona (56-45) has now won four straight games, and has won five straight games against Erie (42-61) overall this season.

Eric Wood plated an insurance run for the Curve in the bottom of the eighth, singling home Kevin Newman to give Altoona a 3-1 lead.

Montana DuRapau (Save, 17) allowed a run in the top of the ninth inning on a Harold Castro sacrifice fly as the SeaWolves came within 3-2, but DuRapau struck out Grayson Greiner looking to earn his 17th save, the second most in the Eastern League, in his 18th save opportunity this year.

Erie put a run on the board in the first inning against Curve starter Alex McRae (Win, 4-5) on a Jason Krizan RBI triple to make it 1-0. Krizan tried to extend his triple to an inside-the-park home run but was thrown out at home to end the inning.

McRae did not allow any more runs in his final six innings, scattering seven hits and striking out three.

Edwin Espinal matched Barnes' 3-for-4 day, while Erich Weiss recorded two hits.

The Curve and SeaWolves continue their series on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Curve right-hander Clay Holmes (8-6, 4.54) will aim for his team-best ninth victory as he opposes SeaWolves right-hander Myles Jaye (4-7, 3.96).
