Bandits Sign Smith, Hill

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed defenseman Billy Dee Smith and forward Dean Hill, both to one-year contracts.

The Bandits acquired Smith (6'3", 220 lbs., 6/30/1982) when he was selected number three overall in the 2002 NLL Entry Draft. The St. Catharines, Ontario native appeared in 15 regular-season games for the Bandits last year, totaling one point (0+1) and 49 penalty minutes. Smith has spent his entire career with the Bandits, compiling 67 career points (32+35) and 597 penalty minutes, which ranks first on the Bandits' all-time list. Smith was also named captain for the 2016 season and is fourth in franchise history in games played (178).

Hill, (6'3", 225, 10/26/1984) a Scarborough, Ontario native has spent 11 years in the NLL with five different teams. Over the course of his career, Hill has compiled 247 points (128+119) in 98 games played. Hill last suited up for the Minnesota Swarm, where he tallied 22 points (11+11) in 13 games during the 2015 season.
