BAKERSFIELD, January 21, 2013 - Jerel McNeal had 21 points, five rebounds and four steals as the Bakersfield Jam (15-7) outlasted the Santa Cruz Warriors for a 99-89 win Monday night.

After leading 47-45 at the break, Bakersfield came out in the third quarter with great execution and effort at both ends of the floor as they managed great ball movement to increase their lead to as many as 20 points. The Jam outscored the Warriors 28-16 in that quarter and went into the final frame up 75-61. Bakersfield maintained their double-digit lead for most of the fourth but Santa Cruz fought back late in the game and came within seven points (88-81) with 2:28 remaining in the game. However, the Jam answered back with a Chris Cooper tip in and made free-throws down the stretch to seal the victory. Bakersfield hands Santa Cruz their first home loss of the season and capture a season-high four game winning streak.

Renaldo Major had 16 points, five rebounds and three steals while Diante Garrett (Phoenix Suns assignee) scored 15 points, dished out a team-high six assists and had three steals. Brian Butch posted a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds to go along with four blocks.

Stefhon Hannah led the Warriors with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds to go along with seven assists. Taylor Griffin had 16 points and nine rebounds while Cameron Jones finished with 15 points.

Bakersfield will remain on the road and head to Los Angeles for a match against the D-Fenders on Wednesday, January 23. Tip-off scheduled at 7 p.m. PT.
