STOCKTON, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (25-11-2-1, 53 points) downed the Stockton Thunder (17-17-2-4, 40 points) 5-2 in front of 4,209 fans at Stockton Arena Sunday evening. C Gino Guyer scored twice and the Condors pushed their lead in the Pacific Division back to 13 points with the win.

Fireworks started early, with Condors RW Erick Lizon and Thunder RW Riley Emmerson dropping the gloves two seconds into the game. Bakersfield recorded the first eight shots of the game, and 15 on Stockton G Bryan Pitton in the first, but it was Stockton that took the 1-0 lead. RW James Bates picked off an outlet pass and wristed it home on the Thunder's first shot. Just 1:24 later the Condors tied it up with Guyer's first of the night at 9:16. Assists went to D Evan Stoflet and RW Nick Kemp.

The Condors took the lead with a three-goal second frame. They took the first six shots of the stanza, and Guyer notched his second of the game and seventh of the season at 4:34. Just past the middle of the second, the Condors added two more. LW Shawn Weller banged in a rebound for his 17th of the season at 11:54, and then C Adam Naglich scored on a breakaway at 13:46. Meanwhile tempers flared, with two fights and several skirmishes breaking out as the Condors took over the game.

Stockton cut into the Bakersfield lead in the latter stages of the third. RW Colin Hemingway scored on his own rebound off a shorthanded rush to make it 4-2 at 12:32. A fourth fight broke out late in the game, while F Stephane Goulet added an empty net tally to secure the win, while G Timo Pielmeier finished the night with 34 saves. Click here for the box score.
