SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - In a night of firsts, the Bakersfield Condors (1-0-0-0, 2pts) won their first-ever game against the San Francisco Bulls (0-1-1-0, pts) in the teams' first-ever meeting by a score of 4-3 on Friday night. Bakersfield is now 10-5-0 all-time in season openers.

C Levi Nelson got the Condors on the board first, 1-0, after he forced a turnover and snapped a quick shot past Bulls G Thomas Heemskerk. San Francisco would equalize at 16:01 as LW Dean Oullet scored the first goal in team history to tie the game at 1-1. However, the Condors would regain their one-goal lead before the break as RW Zach Cohen maneuvered from behind the net to slide one past Heemskerk and give the Condors a 2-1 lead at intermission. Bakersfield outshot San Francisco, 17-10.

After a few big stops from netminder Brian Stewart, the Condors went back on the offensive with the first pro tally from RW Brett Perlini as he banged home his own rebound at 17:13, putting Bakersfield in front by three at 4-1. The Condors held the shot advantage, 11-10.

San Francisco scored two goals within a minute of one another midway through the third period to cut the Condors lead to 4-3. But Bakersfield held on for the victory. Cohen finished the night with a goal and two assists, while Perlini and Nelson each tallied 1g-1a.
