Bakersfield Jam Select Seven Players in 2012 Draft

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam, proud affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors, selected Shan Foster with the 11th pick in the first round of the 2012 NBA Development League Draft Friday night. Foster (6-5, 205) played four years at Vanderbilt averaging 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.06 steals in 33.7 minutes per game his senior year.

"I am proud of how hard our staff worked to prepare for this year's draft. I really think we have a great group of guys coming in," said Head Coach Will Voigt. "We are very excited about the level of talent we will have in training camp and look forward to starting practice soon."

The Jam also selected forward James Nunnally (6-7, 205, UC Santa Barbara), center Chris Cooper (6-10, 245, Old Dominion), forward Austen Powers (6-8, 230, Seatle), forward Bo Ingram (6-5, 195, Texas Arlington), guard Trevon Harmon (6-1, 185, Cleveland State), and guard Jamel McGuire (6-5, 180, CSU San Marcus).

All players will report to training camp next weekend.

The Bakersfield Jam open the 2012-13 season on the road against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Friday November 23 at 5:00 p.m. PT. The Jam home opener comes a week later on Thursday, November 29 when they host the Idaho Stampede at 7:00 p.m. PT.
