Back to Back for Attack

November 3, 2016 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack will look to ride the momentum from a thrilling 8-4 win over the Barrie Colts on Wednesday, Nov. 2 into a pair of weekend tilts.

Heading to Oshawa on Friday night, the Attack are set to do battle with the Eastern Conference leading Generals at the GM Centre before returning home to the Scenic City to host the Sarnia Sting on Saturday evening.

Owen Sound will be looking to win their 3rd in a row when the puck drops at 7:35pm in Oshawa on Friday, but they'll be in tough against a Generals team that is 4-0-0-1 in their last five outings and has rode a 9-5-0-1 record to the pole position out east.

Leading the Attack into hostile territory on Friday is sophomore forward Nick Suzuki, who is coming off of a career game against the Colts where he scored twice short handed - which tied an Owen Sound franchise record - and added three assists to give him 19 points in 15 games.

The draft eligible forward now has eight goals on the year, which has been equalled by rookie winger Maksim Sushko, whose eight goals and 13 points are beginning to turn heads in advance of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

Oshawa, who the Attack play just twice over the course of the season, is powered by captain Anthony Cirelli who has scored nine times and added 12 assists in two games played. Domenic Commisso and Eric Henderson are also playing big parts in the Generals' offence, with both players having recorded 18 points on the year.

Friday night's game will be available for fans to consume live on Rogers Local 53 as well as on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.

Following their trip east, the Attack will make a quick turnaround and come home in advance of their Saturday meeting with the Sarnia Sting.

The match up will mark the return of Jaden Lindo to the Bayshore, which was the overage forward's home for four seasons before being dealt to Sarnia just prior to the 2016-17 season.

Lindo, part of a balanced Sting offensive threat, has scored six times and added two assists for the Bees, whose 10-5-1-0 record has them sitting in 4th place in the Western Conference, just three points ahead of the Attack.

Sarnia is led by St. Louis Blues prospect Jordan Kyrou, whose five goals and 22 points has him 8th in the league's point scoring race, just one point ahead of Attack sniper Petrus Palmu.

In one previous meeting between the clubs this year, the Sting edged the Attack 3-2 in what was Owen Sound's season opener on Friday, Sept. 23.

Puck drop on Saturday evening is slated for 7:30pm and fans can purchase tickets at the MacVicar & McComb ReMax Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com, or by calling 519-371-7452.
