B-Sens Sign Goaltender Barry Brust

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today they have signed goaltender Barry Brust a one-year, American Hockey League contract.
Brust, 26, split the 2009-10 season between the AHL's Houston Aeros and the ECHL's Florida Everblades. In 15 games with Houston, Brust went 6-6-0 with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. In 16 games with the Everblades, he went 9-3-2 with a 2.24 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.
Brust saw action in 11 National Hockey League games for the Los Angeles Kings during the 2006-07 season, where he went 2-4-1 with a 3.70 goals-against average and .878 save percentage.
The 6-2, 225-pound Brust has appeared in 139 career AHL games with Houston and Manchester, amassing a record of 67-52-7 with a 2.25 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. He was recognized by the American Hockey League, along with Aeros' teammate Nolan Shaefer, with the Harry "Hap" Holmes Memorial Award for the 2007-08 season. The award goes to the goaltenders on the team that allows the fewest goals during the regular season.
The Swan River, Man. native was the Minnesota Wild's third round pick (73rd overall) of the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
