B-Sens Fall Short against Sound Tigers, 4-2

BRIDGEPORT, C.T. - The Binghamton Senators had their three-game win streak snapped tonight as they were defeated by the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 4-2, at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.
The Sound Tigers were the first to find the back of the net as John Persson scored his 14th goal of the season on a power play at 7:52 of the first. Jack Combs and Chad Costello would assist.
The Sound Tigers expanded their lead in the second frame as forward Sean Backman, assisted by Scott Campbell, notched his fourth tally of the season. The B-Sens cut Bridgeport's lead in half at the 15:35 mark on a goal scored by Cole Schneider with help from Pat Cannone.
In the third, Campbell's first American Hockey League goal put the Sound Tigers back ahead by two at 3:29. Backman and Matt Watkins assisted. Mika Zibanejad brought the B-Sens back within one with his third goal of the season at 6:04. He was assisted by Danny New and Stephane Da Costa. Bridgeport added insurance at 15:37 with an unassisted goal by defenseman Ty Wishart. The tally ultimately would send Binghamton home with a 4-2 loss.
Marc Cheverie made his B-Sens debut in goal tonight making 24 saves in the loss. Kevin Poulin tended goal for the Sound Tigers making 24 saves to earn the win.
The B-Sens return home on Monday, Jan. 21, to host St. John's IceCaps at 7:05 p.m. Fans have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for only $10 courtesy of Warehouse Carpet Outlets.
