Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Winger Greg Mauldin scored two goals and Brian Lee added two assist to lead the B-Sens to a 3-2 comeback victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Following a scoreless first period, Bridgeport quickly grabbed a 1-0 lead in the second period when center Ben Walter buried a power-play goal past netminder Jeff Glass just 11 seconds into the middle stanza.
Rookie Ilya Zubov responded for Binghamton at the 12:00 mark, snapping a wrist shot which beat goalie Mike Morrison to the glove side.
Binghamton took the 2-1 advantage just one minute into the third period when Greg Mauldin crashed the net and tapped home a rebound for his first marker of the night.
Walter gave the Sound Tigers new life with his second marker, a power-play tally which he tapped home a rebound.
Mauldin struck the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining in the third period. Matt Carkner blasted a slap shot from the point that Mauldin redirected with his stick and under the cross bar to secure the B-Sens win.
Netminder Jeff Glass made 33 saves to earn the victory. Defenseman Lawrence Nycholat collected his 200th AHL assist.
The B-Sens return to home ice tomorrow night when the Manchester Monarchs visit the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena for a 7:05 game. Tickets are still available. For more information on ticket packages please call the Binghamton Senators executive office at (607) 722-SENS.
