April 6, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release
NORFOLK, V.A. - The Binghamton Senators took on the Admirals at Norfolk Scope Arena tonight for the second straight night and final time this season. The B-Sens entered the game looking to rebound from a 2-1 loss to the Admirals last night, but were unsuccessful as Norfolk rolled on to a 3-0 shutout victory. Tonight's loss marks the first time that the B-Sens have lost three straight games this season.
The first goal of the game would not come until 3:11 into the third as Harry Zolnierczyk tossed one behind goaltender Marc Cheverie to put the Admirals on the board. Nate Guenin and Gabe Guentzel combined for the helpers on Zolnierczyk's tally, his tenth of the season. The Admirals added another as Patrick Maroon scored on a shorthanded breakaway opportunity at 13:36. Goaltender Frederik Andersen earned the lone assist. The home team would seal the victory with an empty net goal courtesy of Rod Pelley at 19:22
Cheverie made his 10th start of the season, turning aside 28 of 30 shots faced. Andersen earned his fourth shutout of the year stopping all 30 Binghamton shots.
The B-Sens return to action Friday, April 12 as they host the Albany Devils. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Tickets to the game are $19 for side and $18 for end seats. Fans can purchase tickets through the B-Sens executive office by calling (607) 722-SENS (7367), the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office, and all Ticketmaster outlets.
