LAST TIME OUT: Binghamton scored four in the top of the first and lead wire-to-wire, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs 8-1 Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field. Casey Delgado scattered five hits over six innings and allowed only one unearned run. Matt Oberste went 3-for-5 with a run, Dominic Smith was 2-for-5 with two RBI and Maikis De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a home run. It was Binghamton's second straight win.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Mickey Jannis takes the mound for the B-Mets hoping to bounce back from his last outing. Jannis surrendered a season-high seven runs on six hits in five innings during a 9-6 loss at Reading on Wednesday. He walked four batters and hit three and now leads the pitching staff with 20 walks and four hit batsmen. In his only prior start against the Curve, Jannis allowed three runs on two hits and four walks in 0.2 innings on 9/7/15, last year's season finale. Binghamton went on to win 8-6 in 12 innings.

ALTOONA STARTER: Altoona will trot out RHP Clay Holmes to start the series opener. A ninth-round pick of the Pirates in 2011, Holmes is rated by Baseball America as the 19th best prospect in the Pirates system. He split 2015 between the Gulf Coast League and Bradenton (High-A) in his return from 2014 Tommy John surgery. Holmes went 0-2 with a 2.74 ERA in six starts with the Marauders. He last threw on Wednesday against Trenton and allowed four runs over 5.1 innings while picking up the win. This is his first-start against the B-Mets

POWER SURGE: Maikis De La Cruz belted his second home run of the season in the sixth inning on Sunday in Portland and the B-Mets now have six home runs in their last six games. Binghamton has gone only 2-4 in those games while averaging 4.2 runs per game.

RAKING: Matt Oberste went 3-for-5 on Sunday in Portland, continuing his recent hot streak. In his last 14 games, Oberste is batting .381 (21-for-55) with three HR and 13 RBI. He is batting in the third spot in the batting order for the fifth time today. He is batting .428 (6-for-14) as the three hitter.

IN CLOSING: Akeel Morris tossed a scoreless ninth inning Sunday in Portland, his seventh consecutive outing without allowing a run. After he took the loss with four runs allowed over two innings against Erie 4/21 his ERA ballooned to 10.80 His appearance on Sunday dropped it to 4.41. In his 9.2 straight scoreless innings, the B-Mets closer is 1-0 and converted his only save opportunity.

ALL SQUARE: In the 148 all-time meetings between the Curve and the B-Mets, each team has taken 74 games.

PIT STOP: Binghamton has played 14 of its past 17 games on the road. The B-Mets will be home for only the three-game set with Altoona before heading to Akron for three-games

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: Wednesday's first pitch is set for 6:35 PM. LHP Andrew Barbosa will start against Altoona's LHP Cody Dickson.
