LAST GAME: The Binghamton Mets slugged four home runs and Greg Peaveyallowed one unearned run over seven innings in an 8-1 win over the New Britain Rock Cats last night at Prince George's Stadium. The four bombs matched a season-high and the victory was Peavey's first since May 20. The B-Mets snapped a three-game losing streak with the win. Allan Dykstra went deep twice in the first three innings against Aaron Thompson. Eric Campbellhit a solo shot and Sean Kazmar went yard for a two-run homer in the eighth against reliever Edgar Ibarra. Peavey snapped a nine-game winless streak and matched a season-high with a strong seven-inning performance. The righty allowed just three singles and struck out three. C.J. Nitkowski and Ryan Fraser each supplied one shutout inning of relief.

STARTING PITCHING MATCHUP: LHP Mark Cohoon (4-7, 3.59) makes his 16th start of the season and third against the Rock Cats. Since returning from the Buffalo Bisons (AAA) on July 5, Cohoon has gone 1-0 and compiled a 1.77 ERA in three starts. The southpaw took the no-decision in his last start against the Bowie Baysox on July 19. Cohoon allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out three over a season-best 7.1 innings. In two starts versus New Britain this season Cohoon has gone 0-1 with a 4.22 ERA. The Rock Cats have hit .273 against him.

RHP Blake Martin (3-3, 3.98) makes his 30th appearance of the season and his seventh start. After starting the year in the bullpen, the Alabama native joined the rotation in mid-June. Martin tossed two innings in his previous start against the Harrisburg Senators on July 19 before the contest was suspended by rain. Martin has gone 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA as a starter this season. He has made two relief appearances against Binghamton, suffering one loss and amassing a 3.86 ERA. The B-Mets have hit .143 against the righty. Selected by the Twins in the 17th round of the 2008 draft out of Louisiana State University, Martin is in his third season with New Britain.

PENT-UP POWER: After going six games without hitting a home run, the B-Mets cracked four last night, matching a season-high set against the Trenton Thunder on June 9. It was Binghamton's third six-game home run drought this season.

GOING DEEP TWICE: Allan Dykstra led the charge with a pair of solo home runs last night against starter Aaron Thompson. It was his third career multi-homer game and first as a B-Met. The last time Dykstra hit two home runs in a game came on August 28, 2010 when he slugged a pair of two-run homers with the Lake Elsinore Storm (SDP: High-A).

MAKING UP FOR IT: B-Mets shortstop Sean Kazmar committed two errors, but made amends with a two-run homer in the eighth inning, his third of the season. His long ball was the 60th in his pro career.

BEEN A LONG TIME COMING: After going winless in nine straight starts, Greg Peavey collected his first win since he defeated the Harrisburg Senators on May 20.

CONVINCING IN WINS: In his four wins this season, Greg Peavey has compiled a 1.19 ERA. He has an 8.14 ERA in his six losses and eight no-decisions.

DRAWING FIRST BLOOD: For the first time in five games, the B-Mets scored the first run in last night's game. The three runs scored by Binghamton in the second inning comprised their first lead since Thursday night against the Bowie Baysox.

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER: 39-year-old reliever C.J. Nitkowski has racked up four strikeouts in his two scoreless innings with the B-Mets. Nitkowski has held right-handed batters hitless (0-for-4).

WINNING BIG, OFTEN: Last night's victory was Binghamton's league-leading 27th of four runs or more.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets complete their week-long roadtrip tomorrow against the Rock Cats at 12:05 PM. RHP Zack Wheeler takes the ball for Binghamton against RHP B.J. Hermsen.
