August 12, 2016 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lexington Legends News Release

Augusta starter Jake McCasland and three relievers combined to shut out the Lexington Legends on two hits as the GreenJackets won 7-0 Friday night in Augusta. Tanner Stanley had both Lexington hits, a single to center field in the third inning and a single to right in the sixth.

Junior Arias homered with one out in the bottom of the second inning to give Augusta a 1-0 lead. A single by Matt Pare and a double by Skyler Ewing produced another run in the fourth, and the GreenJackets broke the game open with five runs in the sixth.

Ewing led off the sixth with a triple and scored on a wild pitch by Lexington's Franco Terrero, who had entered the game at the start of the sixth inning in relief of starter Yunior Marte. John Polonius reached first on an infield hit, and Richard Amion followed with a single, moving Polonius to third. After Amion stole second, Jean Angomas grounded to first baseman Brandon Dulin, who threw home to get Polonius as Angomas reached first safely. Seth Harrison's base hit scored Amion, and Dillon Dobson hit a three-run homer to give the GreenJackets a 7-0 margin.

McCasland (6-4) was the winning pitcher. In six innings, he struck out nine batters and walked one, and allowed both of Stanley's hits. Caleb Smith, Charles Owen and Cesar Yanez each pitched one inning in relief and allowed no hits and no runs.

Marte (6-6), who worked the first five innings and gave up the first two Augusta runs, was the losing pitcher. Marte struck out six batters and walked two.

Game three of the four-game series will be played Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
