Attack in Guelph Before Home to Face Belleville
The Owen Sound Attack will ride their five game winning streak into the Sleeman Centre on Friday night when they take on Guelph in an always important divisional matchup. Guelph is fourth in the MidWest Division, however; they sit at 39 points, which would be tops in two other OHL divisions. The Attack enter play tonight three points back of London for first in the MidWest and do have one game in hand.
On Saturday night, McNain Communications will be the sponsor as two of the top Junior goalies in the world will most likely square off as Jordan Binnington will stand opposite Malcolm Subban in a battle of potential Team Canada goaltenders. Fans are also reminded about the McNain Communications Autograph Session following Saturday's game in the front lobby.
Friday, December-07-12: Attack @ Guelph - The Attack is 2-1 against the Storm so far this season, but was blanked at home during their last meeting on November 7th. Guelph sits 4th in the MidWest Division, but 5th overall in the Western Conference and sits 2nd in the Western Conference in goals for with 3.93 goals per game. Tonight is also Teddy Bear Toss night at the Sleeman Centre, so the Attack will be doing their best to make sure they are the only bears in the ice tonight.
Look Out For: Garrett Sparks has played in twenty six games for the Storm and barring injury, it is almost a given the Attack will see him tonight. The 19 year old leads the OHL with over 1600 minutes played and has earned an invite to the US National Junior team selection camp. In Sparks last game against Owen Sound, he made 39 saves in a 3-0 white wash.
Catch the Game On: You can catch the game on Rogers TV Local Channel 53 beginning at 7:30pm or listen to all of the action on 560 CFOS with Terry's Trailer Service/Kia of Owen Sound Bear Radio with Fred Wallace.
Saturday, December-08-12: Belleville Bulls @ Owen Sound Attack - Scoring goals has been somewhat of a problem for the East division leading Belleville Bulls. Despite leading the East Division, the Bulls currently sit last overall in the entire OHL in goals scored with 73. As good as Malcolm Subban has been for the Bulls, his younger brother Jordan Subban, a defenseman currently leads the Bulls in scoring with 21 points.
Look Out For: Malcolm Subban. If you're a fan that loves goaltending battles, this one has the makings to be a dandy. Subban (along with Binnington) is one of four goalies who have been invited to Canada's World Junior Selection Camp. The Toronto native has a goals against average is 2.22, a save percentage of .930 and has appeared in 25 games. The Boston Bruins 1st Round Selection is the main reason the goal starved Bulls are tops in their division.
Tickets for Saturday's game are available at the Attack Box Office, by calling (519) 371-7452 or online at www.attackhockey.com .
Game time on Saturday is 7:30pm.
