Atlanta United FC Season Preview

Significant milestones marked last the 2016 season for the Atlanta United FC. Establishment 2014, the league is considered to be among the fastest rising leagues in the sport circles and Atlanta. The club continues to adopt new strategies and ideas to establish a mark in the Football industry.

2016 was notable due to the revelation of head coach, Tata Martino, who signed the first player in the club history - Jackson Conway who was a high scorer for the club. A major acquisition for Atlanta was Andrew Carleton. The team was streamlining its coaching staff, and that was one of the key additions towards their success. A previous report had indicated that Richard Money, the academy director, would coach the U18 team and Tony Annan would coach the U16 team. Kris Bertsch who was an assistant coach at the University of Louisville also joined the club's coaching staff. An online sports book, Bovada, has released 2017 MLS Cup odds. Vegas odds placed Atlanta United FC at 100-1.

The club made an announcement on October 5th, 2016 that it would play its home matches in the first half of the 2017 MLS season at Georgia Tech's Bobby Dodd Stadium. The situation was considered temporary until the Mercedes- Benz Stadium was ready. The team played the first eight home fixtures of the inaugural season at the Bobby Dodd Stadium while the other nine were played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Pundits in the sporting circles highlighted Taylor Twellman's remarks who last year tweeted that Villalba would sign with Atlanta United FC on the next 24 hours of July 26th 2016. The prediction held true as Villalba was appointed as a manager for Atlanta. The club has already begun its play and is a member of the Eastern Conference. On February 24th, 2017 Atlanta United FC announced they sold out 30,000 tickets. The club has seen incredible fan support this year.

The fans also got the chance to be involved in choosing of the name, logo, and colors for Atlanta. The move established a good relationship between the fans and the team and promoted a high viewership of the club among fans.
