Atlanta Signs Veteran Forward Skelly

DULUTH, GEORGIA - The Atlanta Gladiators announced today that they have signed forward Shawn Skelly of the SPHL's Macon Mayhem to a professional try-out contract.

Skelly, 29, has appeared in 21 games this season for the Macon Mayhem of the SPHL where he leads the team in scoring with 26 points. The sixth-year pro also has stops this season in Knoxville of the SPHL for six games to start the season and Fort Wayne of the ECHL for three contests. The Wolverine Lake, MI native has skated in 102 career ECHL games for Toledo, Bakersfield, Alaska, Las Vegas, Wheeling and Fort Wayne. His best ECHL stretch came in 2012-13 when he notched 14 points in 19 games for the Alaska Aces. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound forward is a product of the NCAA DIII Adrian College Bulldogs in Michigan where he recorded 229 points in 113 games played from 2007-2011.

Skelly has joined the Gladiators for their game tonight against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC at 7:00 PM.
