Asheville Altitude News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C., January 8 – The Asheville Altitude has acquired forward/center Cedric Suitt from the National Basketball Development League available player pool, according to an announcement by NBDL director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Altitude coach Joey Meyer. Suitt fills the roster spot vacated by Rick Rickert, who bought out his contract.

At 6-10, 245, Suitt was in training camp with the Sacramento Kings in 2003, but most recently played in China for the Shangdong Jinsidun Lions, where he averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots. He played in the USBL for the Kansas Cagerz and the Adirondack Wildcats, as well as in the CBA with the Rockford Lightning.

The all-time blocked shots leader at Pepperdine (Â’02), Suitt blocked 10 shots against San Diego on January 26, 2002. He was the West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2002 after blocking a school-record 96 shots and was also named to the WCC All-Academic Team that same year.

Suitt is expected to be in uniform when the Altitude hosts the Roanoke Dazzle tonight. He will wear jersey #53.
